Uses

Cholic acid FGK is a bile acid used for the treatment of bile acid synthesis disorders due to single enzyme defects and as an adjunctive treatment of peroxisomal disorders with disrupted liver function.

Oral cholic acid is indicated for: treatment of bile acid synthesis disorders due to single enzyme defects; and as adjunctive treatment of peroxisomal disorders including Zellweger spectrum disorders in patients who exhibit manifestations of liver disease, steatorrhea or complications from decreased fat soluble vitamin absorption.

Cholic acid FGK is also used to associated treatment for these conditions: Inborn error in primary bile acid synthesis, Peroxisomal Disorders

Food Interaction

  • Take separate from antacids. Take at least 1 hour before or 4-6 hours after aluminum-containing antacids.
  • Take with food.
