Fluorodopa F 18 is a fluorinated analog of levodopa used as a diagnostic agent for positron emission tomography (PET) in the evaluation of Parkinsonian syndromes. Fluorodopa F 18 PET is used adjunctly with other diagnostic investigations and serves primarily to visualize dopaminergic nerve terminals in the striatum.

Uses
Fluorodopa F 18 is indicated for use with positron emission tomography (PET) to visualize dopaminergic nerve terminals in the striatum for the evaluation of adult patients with suspected Parkinsonian syndromes (PS).

Food Interaction
- Take on an empty stomach. Before fluorodopa F18 administration do not eat or drink anything, except for water, for at least 4 hours.
Half Life
The plasma half-life following intravenous administration is approximately 1-3 hours.
Clearance
The agent is cleared from blood and tissue within 24 hours following administration.
Elimination Route
Approximately 80% of the administered radioactivity is eliminated in the urine.
