Glipesta is a pharmaceutical drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the class of anti-diabetic drugs known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors or Gliptins.

How much Glipesta can I take daily?

Adults can take 20 mg of Glipesta once a day in general. If the effect isn't strong enough, the dosage can be raised by up to 40 mg once a day.

Glipesta has been systematically evaluated in T2DM as monotherapy with diet and exercise and in combination with metformin, glimepiride, pioglitazone, and insulin in short-term (12 weeks) and long-term (52 weeks) studies.

What happen If I missed dose of Glipesta?

If you have missed any dose of Glipesta then take it as soon as you remember. If it is already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

What happen if I overdose on Glipesta?

Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, fainting, sweating, tremors, confusion etc. Seek immediate medical help in case of an overdose.

What happen If I stop taking Glipesta?

Do not stop taking Glipesta without talking to your doctor. If you stop taking Glipesta suddenly your diabetes may get worse. If you want to stop taking your medicine, speak to your doctor. They may be able to suggest an alternative treatment for your diabetes.

Can Glipesta affect my kidney?

The study reported that maximum plasma concentration following a single oral dose of 20 mg Glipesta was unaffected by mild, moderate and severe renal impairment.
