Magnamycin A, also called magnamycin, is crystalline macrolide antibiotic. This antibacterial is obtained from Streptomyces halstedii and it presents a large inhibitory effect against Gram-positive bacteria and some Mycoplasma strains. The structure of carbomycin was generated in 1957 by Robert Woodward and later modified in 1965.
