How R-HTBP-1 works
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) is a proinflammatory cytokine that plays a pivotal part in the pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease (CD).1 A number of anti-TNF therapies have been developed for the treatment of CD. R-HTBP-1 is a recombinant form of the soluble human p55 TNF-greek small letter alpha receptor (also known as TNF-binding protein 1) produced by recombinant DNA technology. Its putative mechanism of action involves neutralizing the effects of TNF by the formation of high-affinity complexes.
