What is Tacon used for?

Tacon is a pharmaceutical drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the class of anti-diabetic drugs known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors or Gliptins.

How does Tacon work?

Tacon works by causing the pancreas to release more insulin and decreasing the hormones that cause blood sugar levels to rise.

How should I take Tacon ?

Teneligliptin is given orally to adults in doses of 20 mg once daily, which can be increased to 40 mg per day.

How long does Tacon take to work ?

The maximum percentage of the inhibition in plasma DPP-4 activity was achieved within 2 hours after administration and was 81.3% and 89.7% in the 10 and 20 mg Tacon groups, respectively.

How much Tacon can I take daily?

Adults can take 20 mg of Tacon once a day in general. If the effect isn't strong enough, the dosage can be raised by up to 40 mg once a day.

How long does Tacon take to work?

Tacon has been systematically evaluated in T2DM as monotherapy with diet and exercise and in combination with metformin, glimepiride, pioglitazone, and insulin in short-term (12 weeks) and long-term (52 weeks) studies.

Is Tacon safe in liver disease?

Tacon was well tolerated by subjects with hepatic impairment.

Can I drive after taking Tacon?

Tacon may cause low blood sugar which can impair your ability to drive or operate heavy machines. Always keep sugar or chocolate with you while driving. In case you experience any of the symptoms of low blood sugar such as dizziness, drowsiness, sweating, stop driving immediately and have sugar.

What happen If I missed dose of Tacon?

If you have missed any dose of Tacon then take it as soon as you remember. If it is already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

What happen if I overdose on Tacon?

Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, fainting, sweating, tremors, confusion etc. Seek immediate medical help in case of an overdose.

What happen If I stop taking Tacon?

Do not stop taking Tacon without talking to your doctor. If you stop taking Tacon suddenly your diabetes may get worse. If you want to stop taking your medicine, speak to your doctor. They may be able to suggest an alternative treatment for your diabetes.

Can Tacon affect my kidney?

The study reported that maximum plasma concentration following a single oral dose of 20 mg Tacon was unaffected by mild, moderate and severe renal impairment.
