Uses

Hämin is an iron-containing porphyrin injection used for the relief of recurrent attacks of acute intermittent porphyria (AIP) associated with the menstrual cycle when carbohydrate therapy is not effective.

Used in the management of porphyria attacks, particularly in acute intermittent porphyria.

Hämin is also used to associated treatment for these conditions: Coproporphyria, Hereditary, Porphyrias, Acute, Variegate Porphyria
