How IVIgGM works
IVIgGM has potential antibacterial and immunomodulatory properties where, compared to immunoglobulin treatments without IgM, pentaglobin may have an increased ability to eliminate infectious pathogens . The IgM in the preparation plays a role in complement activation and neutralization of bacterial endo- and exotoxins. IVIgGM is used as an adjuvant in treatment of severe bacterial infections while it is also investigated against peritonitis, sepsis, and COVID-19.
