Methotrimeprazine by Pro Doc Limitee is a phenothiazine used in the management of psychosis, particular those of schizophrenia, and manic phases of bipolar disorder.

How Methotrimeprazine by Pro Doc Limitee works
Methotrimeprazine by Pro Doc Limitee's antipsychotic effect is largely due to its antagonism of dopamine receptors in the brain. In addition, its binding to 5HT2 receptors may also play a role.
Toxicity
Symptoms of overdose include convulsions, spastic movements, and coma.
Food Interaction
- Take with food. Food reduces irritation.
Methotrimeprazine by Pro Doc Limitee Alcohol interaction
[Moderate] GENERALLY AVOID:
Concurrent use of ethanol and phenothiazines may result in additive CNS depression and psychomotor impairment.
Also, ethanol may precipitate dystonic reactions in patients who are taking phenothiazines.
The two drugs probably act on different sites in the brain, although the exact mechanism of the interaction is not known.
Patients should be advised to avoid alcohol during phenothiazine therapy.
