Blood Coagulation Factor XIV (human) is a form of recombinant activated human protein C used to reduce mortality in patients with severe sepsis by inhibiting coagulation Factors V and VIII.

How Blood Coagulation Factor XIV (human) works
Activated protein C combines with protein S on platelet surfaces and then degrades factor Va and factor VIIIa, thereby reducing blood coagulability.
